My Story
Passion for Animals
My passion for animals from a young age and particular interest in dogs, inspired my decision to work towards a diploma in animal management followed by a BSc (Hons) degree in animal behaviour and training. Whilst studying I worked part time for a local dog rescue charity which gave me huge and invaluable practical skills of working with a large range of dogs. This also allowed me to gain a superior understanding of dog welfare. Following successful completion of my degree I began working as the centre trainer for the dog rescue charity which again gave me the opportunity to work with a huge variety of dogs and behavioural issues.
Throughout my studies I have completed many volunteering programs including; the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, the Deep, the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust, working in a Costa Rican zoo and rescue centre and finally completing my dissertation through Operation Wallacea in Peru. These amazing opportunities have given me a well rounded understanding of animal behaviour and learning theory across a range of species but also the necessary skills to work efficiently, independently and also as part of a team.
All of which has lead myself to become a professional dog walker and trainer. I founded Westie's Waggy Tails in 2017, and have been providing the Scunthorpe area with loyal and loving pet care services ever since. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend, I’m sure we’ll get along swimmingly.

Socialization and Relief
Walks are a great way for your pet to get some exercise and meet some new friends at the same time. We can offer a walk daily for those furry pals who have a whole lot of energy to burn.
Socialisation
Out and About
Socialisation is a great opportunity for your pet to learn some basic social skills and tricks. We take your pet and their pals to the park or local walking areas for exercise, and lots of fun and games.
A maximum of 4 dogs will only ever be walked at one time.
Only suitable dogs will be walked and socialised together.
Solo walks
One on One Time
Does your pet need more personalized attention? Do they have trouble getting along with others? Solo walks are a great option for those cuddly buddies who can get a bit uncomfortable around others.

Are you qualified and insured?
Yes, we are fully insured to walk, transport and train your beloved pets. We are also degree qualified in animal behaviour and training.Human and Canine first aid certified.
How many dogs can you walk?
We can walk between 1-4 dogs. We are insured to walk to 4 dogs at any one time, this is also in accordance to North Lincolnshire Council regulations.
Where do you walk?
We have a variety of places we walk. We usually find nice public footpaths close to your location.
Do you leave dogs in the car whilst you walk others?
No. We will never leave your pet in the car whilst other dogs are being walked.Dogs will only be left in cars whilst we collect another dog. Maximum of 5 minutes. *dogs will not be left in cars during extreme weather
Where are training sessions held?
121 training sessions are held at your house.Training classes will be held at specific venues
Can we meet you before you walk our dogs?
Yes. We will always provide a meet and greet beforehand. This allows you to meet us and ask any questions about us and how the service works. It also allows your dog to get to know us too!
What payments do you accept?
We accept cash and bank transfers.
Invoices will be sent out weekly and payment must be received within 14 days. Receipts will also be saved electronically and sent to you if you require.
Do I need to fill out paperwork?
Yes - before we commit to walking your pet we require you fill out a new client form. This will be kept secure and details will not be shared unless in case of emergency e.g. With the vet.
